We arrange funerals that reflect what mattered to your loved one, whether that's a traditional service at a Christian or Catholic church, a non-religious ceremony, or something more personal. Our experience with local churches and celebrants across South Shields means we can help you create a service that truly honours their life and beliefs. We'll guide you through the choices and make sure every detail feels appropriate for your family.
We regularly arrange services at South Shields Crematorium, which many local families choose for its familiarity and accessibility. We also work closely with Sunderland Crematorium if that's more suitable for your family's needs or location. Our team will talk you through what happens on the day, the timing of the service, and any specific requests you'd like to make at either crematorium.
The first step is to give us a call on our South Shields number, and we'll guide you through what happens next. If your loved one has passed away at home, we'll arrange for our team to bring them into our care. If they're in hospital or a care home, we'll liaise directly with the staff there. We'll then talk you through registering the death and beginning to plan the funeral at a pace that feels manageable for you.
We serve families throughout South Shields and the surrounding communities, including Boldon, Jarrow and Hebburn. Our team has been part of this area since the 1950s, so we know the local roads, venues and communities well. Whether your family is in Westoe, Harton or any of the nearby towns, we're here to help you arrange a funeral that feels right for your loved one.
Yes, we have a chapel of rest here on Westoe Road where you're welcome to spend time with your loved one in a peaceful, private setting. Many families find it comforting to visit before the funeral, and our team will arrange a time that suits you. There's no rush and no formality, just a quiet space to say goodbye in your own way, supported by a funeral home that's been part of South Shields for over seventy years.
