We're a funeral home in the heart of Southport, serving the communities of Formby, Burscough and Ormskirk since 2011. Our clients describe us as "patient, kind, and compassionate". These are words we live by every day as we strive to give everyone who comes to us the best experience possible when arranging a funeral.
Our team are good listeners, and that's the first thing we will do when we talk with you. That way we can help you arrange the funeral that feels right. We have longstanding relationships with local crematoriums and churches like Kingdom Hall on Duke Street, Holy Family RC Church and Southport, West Lancashire and Thornton crematoriums. We also know many of the local religious leaders and some wonderful funeral celebrants.
We will give you a warm welcome, a cup of tea and the confidence that any funeral you arrange with us will be the best it can be. Call us or come to our funeral home on Bispham Road.

When someone dies, you don't need to have everything figured out before you call us — our team at Porters on Bispham Road is here to take things one step at a time with you. We can arrange for your loved one to be brought into our care, whether they died at home in Ormskirk, in a hospital, or elsewhere in West Lancashire, and we'll talk you through the paperwork and any immediate decisions gently and without pressure. You won't be facing the next few days alone.
Yes, our team at Porters on Bispham Road covers Formby as well as the wider surrounding area, including Southport, Burscough, Ormskirk, Thornton, and across West Lancashire. Wherever you are in the area, we can come to you and guide your family through every step at a pace that feels right for you.
There are six on-site parking spaces at our funeral home on Bispham Road, and if you need more room, there is also free parking available nearby along with street parking close by. The building is fully wheelchair accessible with a ground floor arrangement room and an accessible toilet, so every family member who wants to be part of the arrangements — including those with mobility needs — can be comfortable during what is always a difficult time.
Our team has experience supporting families from a wide range of faith and cultural backgrounds, including Muslim, Hindu, Sikh, Catholic, Church of England, and Humanist communities across Southport and the surrounding area. We work closely with local places of worship such as Southport Mosque and Holy Family RC Church, as well as Kingdom Hall on Duke Street, to ensure that every tradition, ritual, and religious requirement is honoured with the care and respect it deserves.
On the day of a cremation, our team will lead the funeral cortège from your chosen location — whether that's your family home near Southport town centre or somewhere further afield — to the service venue, ensuring everything runs with care and dignity. The service itself can be held at one of the local churches or venues we work with, such as Holy Family RC Church, before the cremation takes place, and the whole day is shaped around what your family needs, including music, readings, or tributes that reflect your loved one's life. Timings are always discussed with you in advance so nothing feels rushed or uncertain.
