We have experience arranging Catholic, Church of England, and humanist funerals, and our team will always take the time to understand what matters most to your family. Services can be held at local churches including St Andrew's, St Joseph's, St James's, or South Moor Methodist Chapel, depending on your tradition and wishes. If you have specific prayers, readings, music, or rituals that are important to you, we'll work carefully to honour them.
Our team is available to take your call at any hour, day or night, so please do ring us as soon as you feel ready, and we'll come to wherever your loved one has died to bring them into our care. Once they are with us, there's no pressure to make every decision immediately; we'll give you time to gather family and gather yourselves before we sit down together. We can also advise you on the paperwork and registration process, which needs to be completed in the days that follow.
Our chapel of rest on High Street is a quiet, private space where you and your family can visit and spend time with your loved one before the funeral. We believe these moments are deeply important, and our team will ensure everything is prepared with the greatest care before your visit. We also have on-site parking and full wheelchair access, so the space is as welcoming and easy to reach as possible for every member of your family.
Yes, our team is very much here for families in Craghead, and we also serve Stanley, Tanfield Lea, Burnopfield, and Dipton. Wherever you are in the area, we can come to you and guide you through every step at whatever pace feels right for your family. Please don't hesitate to get in touch with us on High Street, Stanley.
We work closely with Mountsett Crematorium and Durham Crematorium, both of which our team knows well and visits regularly. On the day itself, we'll be with your family from the moment the cortège leaves to ensure everything runs smoothly and with dignity. Whether you choose Mountsett for its peaceful setting or Durham for its location, we'll talk you through exactly what to expect so nothing feels unfamiliar or rushed.
