Co-op Funeralcare, Tranent
96-98 High Street, Tranent, EH33 1HH
Our funeral home in Tranent has been serving the local community since 1970. During that time, we've come to know and love our local area well. We cover areas throughout Tranent, including Gifford, Haddington, Prestonpans and Pencaitland. We're here to give you a friendly, reliable and sensitively planned funeral service at your time of need.
Over the years our team have built strong connections with local funeral celebrants, religious leaders, and many places of worship. This means we can help support you in arranging the funeral that feels personal and right for you and your family. If you're not sure, we can help with inspiration and creative ways to remember them. We're also known for helping to arrange Humanist, Muslim and Travelling community funerals, too.
If you need us, get in touch. You'll be greeted with a warm welcome, a friendly face and the promise of a cup of tea when we meet at our comfortable funeral home on High Street.

Yes, our team covers a wide area across East Lothian, including Longniddry, Gullane, Aberlady, North Berwick, and Dunbar, as well as closer communities such as Prestonpans and Wallyford. Wherever you are in the region, we will come to you and make sure your family receives the same care and support from the very first call.
Our team is available around the clock, so you can call us at any time of day or night and we will talk you through exactly what needs to happen, including bringing your father into our care from wherever he has died. We can also help with the paperwork that follows, such as registering the death at Haddington Register Office, and we will make sure nothing falls through the cracks during what is an incredibly difficult time.
Our Tranent funeral home has experience arranging Catholic, Humanist, and Muslim funerals, as well as services for families from the Travelling community, and we approach each with genuine respect for what matters most to you. We will take the time to understand your wishes and work with the relevant celebrant, officiant, or community leader to ensure the service is a true and fitting tribute.
We work with East Lothian Crematorium, and our team will guide your family through every detail of the day so nothing feels uncertain or overwhelming. We will arrange the cortège, liaise with the crematorium on your behalf, and be present throughout to make sure the service reflects exactly what you had in mind for your loved one.
Our funeral home on High Street, Tranent has a chapel of rest where families can spend quiet, private time with the person who has died, and we also have a service venue with space for up to 40 people if you would like to hold a gathering here rather than, or in addition to, a service elsewhere. There is parking nearby with up to 90 minutes available, which gives families arriving from places like Pencaitland or Ormiston time to settle without feeling rushed, though please do bear in mind that the building does not currently have full wheelchair access, and we are happy to discuss any specific needs in advance.
