Questions and answers

We work with a number of local churches and venues, including St Francis Church of England in Bramley, St Alban's Church of England in Wickersley, Herringthorpe United Reformed Church and Stag Community Church in Herringthorpe, as well as other venues that matter to your family. Whether you have a specific place of worship in mind or would like our guidance in choosing somewhere fitting, we will make the arrangements on your behalf.

You can call our Wickersley funeral home at any time, day or night, and our team will be there to help you. Once you are ready, we will come to wherever your loved one has died — whether that is at home, in hospital or in a care setting — and bring them into our care on Bawtry Road. There is no need to have paperwork ready before you call; we will explain everything step by step and make sure nothing falls on your shoulders unnecessarily.

Our funeral home sits on the junction of Bawtry Road and Springfield Road, and we have a small on-site car park to the rear of the building on Springfield Road, including a designated disabled space. If you need more room, there is additional free street parking on Springfield Road, and the Tanyard shopping area directly across the road may also have spaces available, though please be aware it is reserved for shop customers and has time restrictions. The building is fully wheelchair accessible, with a ground-floor arrangement room and an accessible toilet, so your whole family can visit us comfortably.

On the day of a cremation, our team will usually begin with a service at a local venue — such as St Alban's Church of England in Wickersley or Herringthorpe United Reformed Church — before travelling in procession to the crematorium. The service itself typically lasts around 30 to 45 minutes and can include music, readings, tributes and any personal touches that reflect your loved one's life. We will guide your family through every part of the day so that nothing feels uncertain or rushed.

Not at all. Our Wickersley funeral home on Bawtry Road serves families across Maltby, Thurcroft, Ravenfield, Whiston, Bramley and the wider Rotherham area, so wherever you are in these communities we can come to you. If you are unsure whether we cover your street or village, please do give us a call and our team will be happy to help.
