Co-op Funeralcare, Worksop
227-229 Gateford Road, Worksop, S81 7BB
Our funeral home in Worksop has been serving the local community since 1960. During that time, we've come to know and love our local area well. We cover areas in and around Worksop, including Oldcotes, Harworth, Whitwell and Creswell. We're here to give you a friendly, reliable and sensitively planned funeral service at your time of need.
We will be led by you in making the funeral arrangements. We will listen as you tell us about who they were and what feels right for them. Then we will use our established relationships with local places of worship and crematoriums in the area, like St John's Church, Christ Church and The Crossing Church to create the funeral that feels right.
If you need us, our friendly team will be here to listen to you and help you every step of the way, whether that's over the phone or in person at our funeral home on Gateford Road.

On the day of a cremation service, our team will travel with your loved one from Gateford Road to the crematorium, and we will guide your family through every part of the ceremony so nothing feels uncertain. You can choose music, readings, and whether a celebrant, minister, or a family member leads the service, and the ceremony itself typically lasts around 30 to 45 minutes. We will talk you through all of this during your arrangement meeting so the day reflects exactly who your loved one was.
When you are ready, the most important thing is simply to call us, and our team at the Worksop funeral home on Gateford Road is available to take that call and arrange to bring your loved one into our care. We can collect from a family home, a hospital, or a care home in and around Worksop, and there is no pressure to make any other decisions immediately. We will walk you through the paperwork and registration process at a pace that suits your family.
Not at all. Our Worksop funeral home on Gateford Road serves families across a wide area, including Oldcotes, Harworth, Whitwell, Creswell, and the villages around Sherwood Forest. Wherever you are, our team will come to you and make sure your family receives the same care and attention as anyone closer to town.
Yes, we work regularly with St Joseph The Worker RC Church and are familiar with the traditions and requirements of a Catholic funeral service. We also arrange services at St John's Church, Christ Church, and The Crossing Church, so whether your family has a specific faith or a preferred venue, our team will liaise directly with the church on your behalf. We want the service to feel right for your family, and we will handle all the practical arrangements to make that happen.
There is on-site parking for up to ten cars, with further street parking nearby, and a larger car park at the rear of the funeral home on Gateford Road which families are welcome to use. Our arrangement room is on the ground floor and the building is fully wheelchair accessible, so please do not hesitate to let us know if anyone in your family has mobility needs and we will make sure everything is comfortable. We have been caring for families in Worksop since 1960, and looking after every person who comes through our door is something our team takes seriously.
