The services included in our pre-paid plans, like the number of limousines or the type of coffin, can’t be changed, however, all of our funeral plans can be personalised by adding your special wishes. When you take out a plan with us, you can make a record of all your wishes, for example, any special music or requests for mourners to wear a certain colour at the funeral. We’ll keep your wishes with your plan and send them to your chosen Co-op funeral director when the time comes.
If you’d like to buy a funeral plan you can do this online, over the phone, or by visiting your local Co-op funeral home.

Why choose a Co-op pre-paid funeral plan?
Taking out a funeral plan allows you to pay for your funeral in advance, meaning you’ll get the funeral you wanted whilst protecting your family from rising funeral costs and the emotional strain of wondering what you would’ve wanted.
We believe that our plans are the best funeral plans in Scotland, and this is why.
We offer a complete service
Many funeral plan providers act as a third party, meaning they sell the funeral plan to you, but your funeral will be carried out by a funeral director that is not owned by them. This means they can’t guarantee the funeral will be as you wanted because it won’t be them carrying it out. At the Co-op, we not only sell funeral plans but carry out the funeral as well, so we can guarantee that your funeral will be as you wanted.
Some providers may ask you to select a funeral director from a list they are affiliated with and there may even be a fee if you change your mind, but with our funeral plans you’re free to choose any of our funeral homes in Scotland. We have coverage across all counties in Scotland with over 100 funeral homes to choose from.
We have flexible payment options
Whether you want to pay up front or spread the cost with monthly payments, we can set up a payment term that works for you. Our monthly payment options allow you to choose a payment term of anywhere between 6 months and 25 years. If you choose to pay monthly, you’ll pay a minimum deposit of £99, but you can choose to pay a bigger deposit if you’d like to reduce your monthly payments.
If you choose to pay in instalments over 2–25 years and die after 12 months, as long as your payments are up to date, we won’t collect the rest of the balance on the plan and our funeral director will deliver the services in the plan^.
