Funeral arranger leading a funeral procession.

Natalie plans a perfect goodbye

Funeral Director, Natalie Williams, shared with us a touching story of how she helped a family have a truly unique funeral.

The day of a funeral can be fraught with worry, but it’s amazing how comforting it can be to have some personal touches that reflect the personality of our loved one.

Natalie is a Funeral Director at our funeral home in Bridgend and recently had the privilege of arranging and conducting the funeral of John – a much loved husband and father. After visiting his family and listening to all their memories of him, Natalie knew that a celebration of John’s life would be more suitable than a traditional funeral.

Described by his family as a showman, they were more than happy when Natalie suggested the many ways she could make his funeral really unique to him. They handed over a pile of photographs and left the rest with her, completely trusting her to make the day special.

One of John’s passions in life was fixing, rebuilding and designing anything with a motor, so it was only right that the funeral procession was joined by John’s beloved Landrover. His coffin was specially designed using photographs of him with all his bikes and cars, and his friends and family who were gathered at the crematorium were so happy to see it. The funeral went perfectly, and Natalie was so pleased to tell anyone who asked that it's ok to be different.

Such a lovely story to hear, and thank you Natalie for doing what you do so well.
