Pet complementary treatments
We include a range of complementary treatments with your pet insurance

Treatments covered
Co-op Pet Insurance provides cover for many complementary treatments available to your pets. These include:
- acupuncture
- chiropractic manipulation
- physiotherapy
- hydrotherapy
- osteopathy
To claim for these treatments on your insurance they need to be recommended by your vet and carried out by a suitably qualified practitioner. You will also need to pay the excess stated when you bought your insurance.
Hydrotherapy needs to be provided by members of the CHA (Canine Hydrotherapy Association), ICH (Institute of Canine Hydrotherapists) or NARCH (National Association of Registered Canine Hydro-therapists).
Benefits offered
In the same way that complementary treatments can help humans, they can play an important part for pets in relieving pain, preventing future problems and accelerating their recovery programmes.
Co-op Insurance will cover 10 sessions of hydrotherapy for each separate illness or injury per policy year suffered by your pet.
We want our pet insurance to help put a spring in your cat’s step and a wag in your dog’s tail. Complementary treatments offer an extra dimension to animal healthcare and we think they can promote good health and provide faster returns to fitness after injury or illness. That’s why we’ve included cover for them on every policy.
