We have longstanding relationships with local churches and can absolutely arrange a service at St Nicholas Church before the committal at either South Shields or Sunderland Crematorium. Whether your family's faith is important to you or you are looking for a non-religious or humanist ceremony, we will work with you to create something that truly reflects who your loved one was. Our team will liaise with officiants and venues on your behalf, so nothing falls through the cracks.
When you are ready to call us, our team at the Boldon funeral home on North Road is available to help you day or night — you do not need to have everything figured out before you pick up the phone. We will come to collect your loved one and bring them into our care, and we can gently talk you through the paperwork and next steps at a pace that suits you. Nothing needs to be decided all at once, and we will be with you for as long as you need us.
We have on-site parking on North Road, including a designated disabled parking space, and there is additional street parking nearby if you need it. Our arrangement room is on the ground floor and the building is fully wheelchair accessible, with an accessible toilet available, so every family member can be with you when you come to make arrangements. Our arrangement room comfortably seats up to four people, giving your family the space and privacy you need during what is always a difficult time.
We are proud to serve families across the local area, including West Boldon, East Boldon, Boldon Colliery, Fellgate, and Hedworth, as well as Boldon itself. Our funeral home on North Road is a familiar, trusted presence for many families in these communities, and our team will always come to you wherever you are. Whatever your circumstances, we are here to help from the very first call.
We work with South Shields Crematorium and Sunderland Crematorium, and our team will help you decide which feels right for your family, taking into account location, availability, and any personal wishes. On the day itself, we take care of every detail of the journey from Boldon to the crematorium, travelling with your loved one and supporting your family throughout the service. We are there beside you every step of the way, so you can focus on saying goodbye.
