We regularly arrange funerals at local churches including St Andrew's, St Bede's, Christ the King, and St James', and we are experienced in working alongside clergy and faith communities across Carlisle and the wider area. Whether your family's needs are rooted in a particular religious tradition or you would prefer a ceremony that is entirely non-religious, we will shape the service around what feels most meaningful to you. Our team will liaise directly with the church or chosen venue so that you have one less thing to organise during a difficult time.
We have five parking spaces at the funeral home itself — three bays at the back and space for two cars at the front — though we do ask that you use only the designated spaces and avoid parking on the pavement. If those spaces are taken when you visit, there is on-street parking nearby where a parking disc is required for one or two hours, and there is also paid parking available in Carlisle town centre a short distance away. Our arrangement room is on the ground floor, so if you let us know of any mobility requirements ahead of your visit, we will make sure everything is as straightforward as possible for you.
Yes, our team on Spencer Street is very much here for families in Brampton and the surrounding villages, as well as Carlisle itself, Penrith, Annan, and Dumfries. Distance is never a barrier when it comes to the care we offer, and we will come to you wherever you need us. Please do call us and we will talk through everything together.
Whenever someone dies, our team on Spencer Street is available to talk you through what needs to happen next, and we can arrange to bring your loved one into our care at any time of day or night. You do not need to have made any decisions before you call us — simply reaching out is enough, and we will gently guide you through the practical steps including registering the death at Carlisle Register Office. There is no pressure to arrange anything until you feel ready, and we are here to give you the time and space your family needs.
We work with four crematoriums depending on your family's wishes and location: Carlisle Crematorium, Roucan Loch near Dumfries, Eden Valley, and Distington Hall. On the day, our team will guide the cortège from wherever the service begins — whether that is a church such as St Bede's or a crematorium chapel directly — and we stay with your family throughout so you never feel alone in an unfamiliar place. We will explain every part of what to expect well in advance, so there are no surprises.
