The first step is to give us a call, and we'll talk you through everything calmly and clearly. If your loved one has passed away at home, we'll arrange for them to be brought into our care. If they're in hospital in Darlington or one of the surrounding towns like Newton Aycliffe or Bishop Auckland, the hospital will usually contact us directly once you've given permission. From there, we'll arrange a time to meet and start planning the funeral together.
We support families right across Darlington and the surrounding communities, including Richmond, Newton Aycliffe, Bishop Auckland and Shildon. Our team has been serving these areas since the early 1990s, so we know the local churches, crematoriums and venues well. Whether your family is based in the town centre or one of the surrounding villages, we're here to help you arrange a funeral that feels right for your loved one.
Absolutely, we arrange services at both Church of England and Roman Catholic churches across Darlington and the wider region. Our team works regularly with local clergy and understands the different traditions and requirements for religious funerals. We'll liaise with the church on your behalf, help you plan the order of service, and make sure all the practical details are taken care of so your family can focus on saying goodbye.
Yes, we have a peaceful chapel of rest at our St Cuthbert's Way branch where you're welcome to visit your loved one. Many families find it comforting to spend some quiet time together before the funeral, and there's no rush, you can visit as often as you need to. Our team will arrange everything sensitively and make sure you feel supported during each visit.
We work closely with Darlington Crematorium as well as Wear Valley Crematorium and Durham Crematorium, depending on what suits your family best. Our team will book the time and date with the crematorium, coordinate with the celebrant or minister, and make sure everything runs smoothly on the day. We'll guide you through what to expect at the service and answer any questions you have about the process, so there are no surprises.
