There is a restricted layby directly outside our funeral home on Skellow Road, though please bear in mind this has a one-hour maximum stay, so it is best suited to shorter visits. For longer arrangement meetings, side street parking is available nearby, and our ground floor arrangement room means there are no steps to navigate when you arrive — we also have a wheelchair-accessible toilet on site, so please don't worry if mobility is a consideration for anyone in your family.
A cremation service usually begins with a gathering at a chosen venue — we regularly work with local churches such as St Laurence's Church and St Peter's Church for services before a cremation takes place. On the day, our team will be there to guide your family through the order of events, from the arrival of the hearse to the committal, making sure everything reflects the life of the person who died. We'll talk you through all the timings and choices in advance so there are no uncertainties when the day arrives.
We work closely with a number of local churches and can help arrange a traditional religious service at venues including St Michael and All Angels Church, St Mary Magdalene Church, St Peter's Church, and St Laurence's Church. Our team will liaise directly with the officiant and venue on your behalf, so your family can focus on being together rather than managing logistics.
Please don't hesitate to call us, day or night — our team is available around the clock to help families in Carcroft, Adwick, Woodlands, and the surrounding areas. We can arrange for the person who has died to be brought gently into our care on Skellow Road, and once they are with us, we'll sit down with you to talk through the paperwork, registration, and next steps at whatever pace suits your family.
Yes, our Carcroft funeral home on Skellow Road serves families across Skellow, Carcroft, Adwick, Askern, Campsall, Woodlands, and the wider South Yorkshire area, including Pontefract and the communities around Rose Hill.
