We're a funeral home in the heart of Haltwhistle, serving the communities of Alston, Haydon Bridge, Nenthead and Blenkinsopp since 1998. Our clients describe us as "patient, kind, and compassionate". Not at all. Our team covers a wide area across this part of Northumberland and Cumbria, including Alston, Haydon Bridge, Nenthead, and Blenkinsopp, as well as Haltwhistle itself. Wherever you are in the surrounding area, we are here to support your family through every step of the arrangements.
Absolutely — we arrange funerals of all kinds, whether that means a traditional religious service, a fully secular ceremony, or something that blends personal meaning with cultural or spiritual elements. Our team takes the time to understand what feels right for your family, and we can help you find a celebrant or officiant who will reflect the life your loved one lived, whatever form that takes.
When someone dies, we know the first hours can feel completely overwhelming, and we are here around the clock to help — you do not need to wait until morning to call us. Our team can arrange collection from Nenthead or anywhere else in the area, day or night, and bring your loved one into our care at our Haltwhistle funeral home while your family takes the time it needs before any further decisions are made.
There is a free car park nearby and street parking available close to our funeral home on Park View, and the parking bays directly opposite are free for up to two hours, which is usually plenty of time for an arrangement meeting. Our arrangement room is on the ground floor with full wheelchair access and an accessible toilet, so every member of your family can join you comfortably for what can be an important and meaningful conversation.
From our Haltwhistle funeral home we work with Carlisle Crematorium, Newcastle Crematorium, and Mountsett Crematorium, so your family has a genuine choice depending on your wishes and how far you would like to travel. On the day, our team will guide the cortège to your chosen crematorium and remain with you throughout, making sure everything runs calmly and with the care your loved one deserves.
