Co-op Funeralcare, Hereford
49 Eign Gate, Hereford, HR4 0AB
We're proud to have served our community in High Town since 2012. In that time, our funeral home has helped countless families, offering the practical guidance and advice they need to arrange a fitting send off for a loved one. Whether you live in High Town or surrounding areas like Ross-on-Wye, Hay-on-Wye or Llandrindod Wells, no one knows the area and its people better than our team.
The first thing we'll do at the arrangement meeting is listen to you. And whatever your religion, culture or heritage, we can help you arrange the right kind of funeral. We work with all the local places of worship and crematoriums, including St Paul's Church, Broad Street Catholic Church and St Martin's Church and Hereford and Forest of Dean crematoriums. So whatever type of funeral you need to arrange, we can help you.
If you need us, get in touch. You'll be greeted with a warm welcome, a friendly face and the promise of a cup of tea when we meet at our comfortable funeral home on Eign Gate.

Yes, we have a dedicated ground-floor arrangement room at our Eign Gate funeral home with space for up to six people, so the whole immediate family can be together when we sit down to plan. The room is fully accessible, and there is an accessible toilet on site, so everyone can attend comfortably. There is a paid car park nearby, and our team will make sure you feel unhurried and supported throughout your visit.
Not at all. Our Hereford funeral home on Eign Gate covers a wide area including Hay-on-Wye, Ross-on-Wye, Llandrindod Wells, and the surrounding communities. Wherever you are, our team will come to you and make sure your family is supported from the very first call.
You can call us at any time, day or night, and our team will be there to help, whether the death has happened at home, in hospital, or somewhere like a care home in High Town or across the wider Hereford area. We will arrange to bring the person who has died into our care on Eign Gate and walk you through everything that needs to happen next, including the paperwork and registration. You do not need to have any answers ready when you call, just reach out and we will guide your family through each step.
Yes, we have experience supporting families from the Travelling community, Afro-Caribbean backgrounds, and a range of Christian traditions including Catholic services at Broad Street Catholic Church and Church of England services at St Martin's Church. We take the time to understand what matters most to your family, whether that means specific music, traditions, or the way the service is conducted. Our team will listen carefully and make sure the funeral is a true reflection of the person who died.
We work with Hereford Crematorium and Forest of Dean Crematorium, and our team will help you decide which feels right for your family. On the day, we will lead the procession and stay with you throughout, making sure everything runs smoothly and that the service reflects the person who has died. We will talk you through what to expect so nothing comes as a surprise.
