Co-op Funeralcare, Morpeth
16 Manchester Street, Morpeth, NE61 1BH
We're proud to have served our community in Morpeth since 2001. In that time, our funeral home has helped countless families, offering the practical guidance and advice they need to arrange a fitting send off for a loved one. Whether you live in Morpeth or surrounding areas like Pegswood, Hepscott, Longhorsley or Stannington, no one knows the area and its people better than our team.
We will be led by you in making the funeral arrangements. We will listen as you tell us about who they were and what feels right for them. Then we will use our established relationships with local places of worship and crematoriums in the area, like St Mary's Church, St Robert's RC Church and Morpeth Methodist Church to create the funeral that feels right.
If you need us, call or visit us in person on Manchester Street. We'll be here to welcome you from the first conversation and take the time to understand your unique needs and support you through every step.

Yes, our team on Manchester Street is very much here for families in Pegswood, and we also serve the surrounding villages of Hepscott, Longhorsley, Stannington, Netherwitton, and Morpeth itself. Whatever your circumstances, we can come to you and make sure everything is taken care of from the very beginning.
We work regularly with St Mary's Church and can also arrange services at St Robert's RC Church, Morpeth Methodist Church, and St James Church, so whatever your faith or tradition, we can coordinate with the clergy or celebrant of your choice. If a non-religious service feels more fitting, we can help you find the right setting and the right words to honour the person who died.
You can call our team on Manchester Street at any time — day or night — and we will talk you through everything calmly and without rushing you. We can arrange to bring the person who died into our care whenever your family is ready, and we will help you understand the paperwork and next steps, including registering the death at the Morpeth Register Office, at a pace that suits you.
There is a large free car park directly behind our funeral home on Manchester Street, available for up to three hours with a parking disc, and there is also street parking nearby if needed. Our arrangement room is on the ground floor and the building is fully wheelchair accessible, with an accessible toilet available, so every member of your family is able to be with you when you come to make arrangements.
We work with three crematoriums depending on your family's preferences and practical needs: Northumberland at Felton, Cowpen Blyth, and West Road in Newcastle, each offering a different setting and atmosphere. On the day, our team will guide the cortège from Morpeth and stay with your family throughout, making sure every detail — from the timing of the service to the music and tributes — reflects the person who died.
