Co-op Funeralcare, Thorne
12 Field Side, Thorne, DN8 4BQ
We're proud to have served our community in Thorne since 2017. In that time, our funeral home has helped countless families, offering the practical guidance and advice they need to arrange a fitting send off for a loved one. Whether you live in Thorne or surrounding areas like Moorends, Fishlake, Stainforth or Hatfield, no one knows the area and its people better than our team.
The first thing we'll do at the arrangement meeting is listen to you. And whatever your religion, culture or heritage, we can help you arrange the right kind of funeral. We work with all the local places of worship and crematoriums, including St Nicholas' Church in Thorne and Memoria Barnby Dun and Rosehill Doncaster crematoriums. So whatever type of funeral you need to arrange, we can help you.
A funeral arrangement meeting with us is a conversation over a cup of tea as we decide and arrange things together. When you need us, call us or come and see us on Fieldside.

You can call our Thorne funeral home at any time — day or night — and our team will talk you through everything calmly and without rush. We can arrange for your loved one to be brought into our care, and once they are with us, there is no pressure to make any decisions immediately. We will help you understand what paperwork needs to happen and when, so nothing is missed and you can focus on your family.
There are eight on-site parking spaces at our Fieldside funeral home, and if those are taken there is a free car park close by as well — you can also access additional parking down the left side of our building towards the rear. The building is fully wheelchair accessible with a ground-floor arrangement room and an accessible toilet, so every family member can be with you when you sit down with us to make arrangements.
On the day of a cremation, our team will bring your loved one to the service venue — such as St Nicholas' Church in Thorne for a church service beforehand if that is your wish — before travelling to the crematorium together. We guide your family through the order of service, timings, and what to expect at each stage so there are no unexpected moments on the day. Afterwards, we will talk you through the options for your loved one's ashes in as much or as little detail as you need.
We have experience supporting families from the Travelling community, as well as Catholic and Church of England traditions, and we understand how important it is to honour the customs and wishes that matter most to your family. Our team will take time to listen and make sure the funeral truly reflects your loved one's life and heritage, including working with St Nicholas' Church in Thorne or any other venue that holds meaning for you.
