Our funeral home on East Parade has a payable car park directly opposite, restricted street parking right outside, and free street parking a short two-minute walk away, so there are several options depending on what suits your family best. The building is fully wheelchair accessible, with a ground floor arrangement room and an accessible toilet, so every member of your family can be comfortable and included during what we know is an incredibly hard time.
Our Heworth team has experience supporting families from a wide range of faiths and cultures, including the Travelling community, Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Jewish, Buddhist, Afro-Caribbean, and African communities, among others. We take time to understand what matters most to your family, whether that involves specific religious rites, cultural traditions, or a Humanist approach. Families from across the Heslington and Tang Hall areas, and beyond, trust us to honour their loved one in the way that feels true to who they were.
When someone dies, you can call our Heworth funeral home on East Parade at any time, day or night, and our team will answer. We can arrange to bring your father into our care, which often brings families a sense of quiet relief during those first very difficult hours. From there, we will talk you through the paperwork and the next steps at whatever pace feels right for you, with no pressure to make any decisions before you are ready.
Not at all. Our Heworth funeral home on East Parade serves families across a wide area, including Pocklington, Stamford Bridge, Heslington, Tang Hall, and into the East Riding. Wherever you are, our team will come to you, and you are always welcome to visit us here in Heworth to make arrangements in person.
We work with York Crematorium and Babworth Crematorium, and our team will help you choose whichever feels right for your family and your plans for the service. On the day, we will travel with your loved one and guide the procession, so that everything unfolds calmly and with dignity. We take care of all the coordination with the crematorium so your family can focus entirely on being together.
