Includes

  • Bringing the person who has died into care and transporting them to the crematorium.

  • Carefully looking after them before taking them to the crematorium.

  • Our basic coffin.

  • An unattended cremation.

  • A free call from our Funeralcare Bereavement Support Team offering bereavement support and help with any legal issues.

Ashes

  • Ashes are provided in a biodegradable cardboard ashes box. They can be scattered at the crematorium's garden of remembrance, collected from the crematorium or from one of our funeral homes.

Does not include

  • Visiting the person who has died at one of our funeral homes.

  • Dressing them in their own clothes. We will provide a gown.

  • Adding items to the coffin to go to the crematorium. Items such as flowers, funeral stationery or personal effects are not allowed.

  • Being able to choose the date and time of the cremation.

  • Mourners, including family or friends, attending the crematorium on the day.

  • Delivering ashes directly to you. We can scatter them for you or you can collect from the crematorium or any Co-op funeral home.

Costs and payment

    A direct cremation costs £1,395 in England, Wales and Scotland.

    You need to pay for a direct cremation in full within 48 hours of making the arrangements.

    We accept cash, credit or debit card as well as Apple Pay or Google Pay payments.

When you arrange a funeral with us, we can help you understand if you need probate or other legal support. If probate is needed, Co-op Legal Services can provide you with a fixed fee quote for carrying out this work.
