Terms and conditions

How to enter

To enter you must complete a quote and have a premium generated for one of our eligible insurance products (as specified below) during the Prize Draw Period.

Opening and closing date

This promotion opens on 3 January 2023 and closes on 30 June 2023. Any entries made before the opening date or after the closing date will not be valid and will not be entered into this promotion. Each prize draw will run monthly, and entries will be open at 00:01 on 3 January 2023 and 00:01 on the 1st of every subsequent month and close at 23:59 on the last day of every month (the ‘Prize Draw Period’).

Eligibility

In order to be eligible to enter, you must complete a direct quote and have a premium presented to you on one of the following Co-op Insurance policies during the Prize Draw Period; car insurance, home insurance, pet insurance, travel insurance, term life insurance, over 50 insurance. ‘Direct’ shall mean an eligible quote obtained via the contact centre or via the coop.co.uk/insurance website only.

Quotes obtained through price comparison sites are not eligible. Quotes for eco insurance, young driver insurance, business insurance, van insurance, standalone breakdown cover or life-time mortgages are not included. This promotion is open to UK residents only. However, employees of the promoter (or any of its group undertakings and its agencies who are directly connected with the creation and administration of this promotion) are excluded from entering this promotion.

Prize

There are 10 winners each month who will each receive a £500 Co-op Food Gift card. Each prize has a value of £500 to be redeemed against products in Co-op Food Stores only. The prizes are not accepted in independent food stores including but not limited to Midcounties, Central England, Southern or Chelmsford Star co-operatives or in non Co-op branded stores such as Nisa or Costcutter.

The gift cards are subject to the terms and conditions of use printed on the reverse (including redemption before the expiry date, if stated) and full terms and conditions can be found here. Gift cards are not exchangeable and no cash alternative can be requested. Gift cards are provided at our discretion and we may substitute or change the gift card for a prize of equivalent or greater value if circumstances beyond our control make it necessary to do so.

Winner selection

Each winner will be drawn at random no later than 10 working days after the end of each Prize Draw Period from all eligible entries received by a randomised computer process.

Notification and delivery of the prize

The prize will be sent via recorded delivery to the correspondence address input in the quote within 15 working days of the winners being drawn and the winner may be required to sign to acknowledge receipt. The promoter or its agencies will accept no responsibility for any loss, injury or damage suffered through acceptance of this prize. The winner may be required to submit valid identification before receiving the prize.

Decisions of the promoter

If there is any dispute about the receipt of validity of any entry or any other aspect of the promotion, this will be decided by us. Our decision regarding any aspect of the promotion is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.

Winner list

Winner’s surnames and respective county of residence can be obtained by sending an email to insurancemarketing@coop.co.uk within 14 of days after the closing date of the promotion.

Agreement to these terms and conditions

Entry to this promotion shall constitute your acceptance of these terms and conditions your agreement to be bound by them. These terms and conditions take effect immediately upon entry to the promotion.

Disqualification

We reserve the right to reject any entry, withhold the prize and disqualify you from the promotion if we suspect you of failing to comply with these terms and conditions or of fraud, cheating or dishonesty.

No responsibility for entries not received

We accept no responsibility for entries not successfully received by us, or which are delayed, due to a technical fault, technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, satellite, network or server failure of any kind.

Use of personal information to administer promotion

We, other members of the Co-operative Group and 3rd party agencies acting on our behalf, may collect personal information from you in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and other applicable data privacy laws. Except as set out in clause 14 below, we and other members of the Co-operative Group will only use your information for the purposes of administering this promotion.

Use of personal and other information for promotional purposes

By entering this promotion, you agree that if you win, we, other members of the Co-operative Group and 3rd party agencies acting on our behalf may use your entry, name, photo or image, county of residence and any testimonial you have provided to us, for promotional purposes (including on our websites, social media, within our magazines or within promotional emails).

Limitation of liability

Insofar as is permitted by law, we, our agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate you or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize (if you win) except where it is caused by our negligence or the negligence of our agents or distributors or that of our or their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

Cancellation or withdrawal of promotion

We reserve the right at our absolute discretion to withdraw or cancel this promotion without prior notice and without liability to any party if it becomes necessary to do so.

Changes to these terms and conditions

We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Revised terms and conditions will be available at coop.co.uk/insurancedraw. It is your responsibility to keep up to date with any such changes.

Relevant law

This promotion and these terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and you agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the English courts if any dispute arises.
