Buy a Co-op Pet Insurance policy

Buy a Co-op Pet Insurance policy direct on our website or by calling the contact centre. You must have an active Co-op Home, Car, Annual Travel or Renters policy at the time of purchase. Your pet insurance policy must stay in force for 90 days to be eligible for this offer.

Get £25 in your membership wallet

We will add £25 to your Membership Wallet within 150 days of your new Co-op Pet Insurance policy start date. You will be able to see that it has been added by checking your balance on your membership account online. If you are in a Co-op store, ask a colleague at the till, or check at a self service till when you pay.

Enjoy spending your £25

To spend at the till, scan your Co-op Membership card or App and tell us you would like to spend your wallet balance. If you're using self-service, scan your Co-op Membership Card and select 'Spend member rewards' at the checkout.

Terms and conditions

These terms and conditions relate to the existing customer pet offer which has been made available to all existing home, renters, car, young driver, van, and annual travel Co-op Insurance customers who are Co-op Group members. Customers who only have a single trip travel, life, over 50 or pet policy cannot receive this offer. Customers who hold a temporary Co-op Membership card are also excluded. All participants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by these terms and conditions.

The Offer of £25 credit on valid Co-op Group membership cards is operated by Co-operative Insurance Services Limited (part of Co-op Group) who is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and appears on the Financial Services Register under register number 779364 (‘Co-op Insurance’). Any reference to ‘we’, ‘us’, ‘our’ in these Terms means Co-op Insurance. Any reference to ‘you’ or ‘your’ means the Co-op member whose name is on the front of their membership Card.

Opening and closing date

This offer will operate from midnight 22/11/2024 to 11:59pm 22/02/2025 (the ‘promotional period’).

Offer criteria

The offer is available to individuals who:

  • are Co-op Group members
  • have an existing home, motor, annual travel or renters Co-op Insurance policy
  • purchase a new Co-op pet insurance policy (the ‘eligible policy’) directly from Co-op Insurance during the promotional period.

“Direct” shall mean an eligible policy purchased via the contact centre or online via coop.co.uk/insurance only.

An existing insurance customer is someone who has an existing live home, motor, annual travel or renters Insurance policy bought through Co-op Insurance Services which is active when they purchase the Co-op Pet Insurance policy (the ‘eligible policy’)

UK residents and 18+ only. Proof of age/identity may be required. Any Co-op Group membership cancelled during the promotional period are not eligible for the offer. The underwriter reserves the right to decline any application for any insurance policy at its absolute discretion and is not obliged to disclose any reason for rejection.

Offer

Individuals who meet the Offer criteria will be eligible to receive £25 in their Co-op Group wallet. 1 Offer available per eligible policy holder.

Notification and application of the offer:

We will identify all eligible customers who satisfy the requirements of the offer using the following credentials captured when taking out an eligible policy:

  1. Date of Birth
  2. Your surname and first initial of your first name
  3. Your postcode

This information on the existing policy and the new pet policy must match the information on the Co-op membership account.

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that these records match and are up to date. We accept no responsibility or liability for the non-application of the offer where inaccurate or incorrect information is provided.

In addition to any other restrictions or product limitations that may be stated above, you cannot use this credit to purchase: fuel, first stage baby milk, postage stamps, saving schemes, lottery purchases, gift cards and vouchers, phone cards, in-store concessions, PayPoint, newspaper deliveries or cigarettes and tobacco.

Any discount applied to alcohol will not reduce the price below the minimum legal selling price. This credit may be rejected for some transactions. For further information see coop.co.uk/terms/membership-terms-and-conditions

Any Co-op Pet Insurance customers who cancel their eligible policy during the first 90 days from the policy start date are not eligible to receive the offer.

We will credit your membership wallet with the £25 automatically within 150 days of the policy start date. You can check your membership wallet balance in the Co-op app or by logging into your Co-op account via coop.co.uk/membership.

Additional terms

The offer is non-transferable, non-exchangeable and has no cash value.

£25 credit cannot be redeemed in independent societies, Midcounties, Central England, Southern or Chelmsford Star co-operatives, some Co-op Live concessions stores, Co-op franchise stores or in non-Co-op branded stores (such as Nisa).

You must notify us if there are any issues with receiving your offer within 12 months of your policy start date. Where you fail to contact us within 12 months of your policy start date, we may in our absolute discretion refuse to fulfil the offer without liability to you.

The terms and conditions of this offer do not alter or vary the terms and conditions of any eligible policy bought. The sourcing and delivery of the offer will be fulfilled by Co-op Insurance.

Disqualification

We reserve the right to reject any use, withhold any offer and disqualify you from the offer if we reasonably suspect you of failing to comply with these terms and conditions or of fraud, cheating or dishonesty, without limitation, through the manipulation of codes, multiple computer-generated discounts, or otherwise fraudulently falsifying data or acting fraudulently or dishonestly in the promoter’s opinion. Offer must be used personally.

Fraud and abuse relating to the offer may result in the forfeiture of the offer.

Cancellation or withdrawal

Co-op Insurance reserves the right at our absolute discretion to withdraw, modify or terminate this offer, without notice and without liability, in whole or in part in the event that it is necessary to do so, or if the uptake of the offer exceeds expectations.

Access to the offer

The promoter cannot guarantee uninterrupted or secure access to the offer. We accept no responsibility for the offer not successfully being redeemed due to a technical fault, technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, satellite, network, or server failure of any kind whether or not such failure is within the control of the promoter or its agents.

Use of personal information to administer the offer

We, other members of the Co-operative Group and any third-party agencies acting on our behalf, may collect personal information from you in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and any other applicable data privacy laws. We, and other members of Co-operative Group Limited, will only use your information for the purposes of administering this offer. You have the right to ask that we stop any consent-based processing of your personal data after you withdraw that consent.

Agreement to these terms and conditions

Use of this offer shall constitute your acceptance of these terms and conditions and your agreement to be bound by them. These terms and conditions take effect immediately upon entry to the offer. These terms and conditions prevail in the event of a conflict or inconsistency with any other communications, including advertising or promotional materials.

Changes to these terms and conditions

We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Revised terms and conditions will be available at coop.co.uk/insurance/about-us/our-promotions/pet-member-offer. It is your responsibility to keep up to date with any such changes.

If any paragraph in these terms and conditions is found by any court or administrative body of competent jurisdiction to be invalid or unenforceable, such invalidity or unenforceability shall not affect the other paragraphs of these terms and conditions, which shall remain in full force and effect.

Limitation of liability

All conditions, warranties and representations expressed or implied by law or otherwise in connection with the offer are excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law and the Promoter shall be under no liability whatsoever or howsoever arising in connection with any loss, damage or injury suffered as a direct result of the provision or use of the offer. The promoter makes no attempt to exclude or limit its liability for death or personal injury arising as a result of its negligence.

Relevant law

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England. The Courts of England shall have exclusive jurisdiction in connection with these terms and conditions.

General

The promoter is not responsible for any third-party acts or omissions. We cannot guarantee that the offer will be free from disruptions, failings, or cancellations. We are not liable for such disruptions, failings, or cancellations unless they are caused by our negligence.
