View funeral notices and leave a tribute or donation in their memory
On the day of a cremation, your family will gather at the chosen venue — we regularly work with local churches such as St Richard's and Atherton Parish — for a service that reflects the life of the person who died, before the coffin is carried to the crematorium. The service itself usually lasts around 30 to 45 minutes and can include music, readings, tributes, or a period of quiet reflection, entirely according to your wishes. Afterwards, our team will talk you through what happens next, including options for the ashes, so nothing feels rushed or uncertain.
We work closely with a number of local churches and are experienced in arranging services that honour a particular faith tradition with care and respect. St Michael's and Atherton Parish are among the venues we work with regularly, and we will liaise directly with the minister or officiant on your behalf. If your family has a specific church or faith community in mind, simply let us know and we will coordinate everything around that.
There is a free car park nearby, and street parking is also available close to our funeral home on Market Street in Atherton, though it is worth knowing that some spaces are limited to 20 minutes and others to two hours, so the nearby car park is usually the most comfortable option if your visit may take a little longer. Our building is fully accessible, with wheelchair access, an accessible toilet, and a ground-floor arrangement room, so please do not hesitate to let us know in advance if there is anything we can do to make your visit easier.
Yes, our team on Market Street covers Westhoughton as well as the surrounding areas including Atherton, Tyldesley, Bolton, Howe Bridge, Wigan, Overdale, and Agecroft. Wherever your family is based, we can come to you and guide you through every step. Please do get in touch and we will talk through what you need.
