We've been serving families across Cattedown, Lipson, the Barbican and town centre, and Mutley since the 1970s. Our Exeter Street branch is well placed to support bereaved families throughout these communities, and our local team knows the area and its venues well. Whether you're arranging a funeral close to home or at one of the city's churches, we're here to help you every step of the way.
Yes, we can, and we're available 24 hours a day, every day of the year. When you're ready, just call us and we'll arrange to bring your loved one into our care with dignity and respect, whether they're at Derriford, a local care home, or at home in Mutley or anywhere across our area. There's no rush and no pressure, we'll talk you through what happens next and answer any questions you have. Many families find that once their loved one is with us, they can take a breath and start to think about the funeral at their own pace.
We arrange services at a wide range of venues including St Andrew's Church, the Catholic Cathedral, and Ford Park Chapel, as well as non-religious ceremonies at the crematoriums. Whether you're planning a traditional religious funeral or a humanist celebration of life, our team will work with you to create a service that honours your loved one's beliefs and values. We're experienced in supporting families from all backgrounds and can help you find the right setting and celebrant for your needs.
Yes, we have a peaceful chapel of rest at our Exeter Street funeral home where you're welcome to spend time with your loved one before the funeral. Many families find it comforting to visit, and you can come as often as you need to during our opening hours. Our team will make sure everything is arranged with care and dignity, and we'll always give you privacy during your visits. There's no pressure to visit if you'd prefer not to, we'll support whatever feels right for you and your family.
We work closely with both The Park crematorium and Tamar Valley crematorium, and we'll guide you through the process at whichever location suits your family best. A cremation service typically lasts around 30 to 45 minutes, and you can personalise it with music, readings, and tributes that reflect your loved one's life. Our team will coordinate all the arrangements with the crematorium and be there on the day to ensure everything runs smoothly.
