Add ons
You can add extra cover when you buy your car insurance. These include:
What is car insurance?
Car insurance helps pay if something goes wrong when you’re driving. Some types help pay to fix your car if it’s damaged or stolen. Others only help pay if you damage someone else’s car or property. What’s covered depends on the type you choose. If you make a claim, you’ll usually need to pay an excess – this is the amount you pay yourself before the insurance helps with the rest.
Why do I need car insurance?
You must have car insurance by law, unless your car is registered as off the road. Without insurance, you could incur a fixed penalty and penalty points. Also in some cases you could get an unlimited fine and disqualified from driving if the case went to court.
What Co-op Car Insurance does not cover
There are certain things our insurance does not cover, these include:
- professional driving instruction
- any journeys made as part of motor trade operations
- hiring your car to someone else
- motor racing
- track days
Working with Brake for safer roads
