Home insurance is offered through Co-op Insurance Services and administered by Affinity Insurance Solutions Limited.

We're always working hard to pass savings on to our members which is why we created our members only renewal price offer.

We guarantee to beat your current home combined buildings and contents insurance renewal price - your quotation must match your coverages with your existing insurer, including optional extras.*

If our quote is higher than your renewal price and you want to take advantage of this offer, follow the below steps.

Step 1

Buy your Co-op Home Insurance policy at the price you've been quoted.

Step 2

Send us proof of your renewal documentation within 30 days of buying your policy. Do this via email to gtb@cover.coop.co.uk or by post.

Step 3

You'll receive confirmation of whether your documentation is accepted within 24 hours of us receiving it.

Step 4

If you meet the matching criteria* and we haven't beaten your existing renewal quote, we'll refund you the difference plus £1 within 70 days of receiving the valid documentation. Refunds will be made to the card that you used to pay with. If this isn't possible we may send a cheque to the policyholder instead. Find the full terms and conditions here.

Co-op Home Insurance comes with lots of great features, and we’ve some useful optional extras too that you can add to create an insurance policy that’s right for you.

Our home insurance is available in three levels of cover:

  • just buildings insurance,
  • just contents insurance,
  • combined buildings and contents insurance.

You can choose which level of cover you need when you get a quote online.

Buildings insurance

We can give a quote for houses in Great Britain and Northern Ireland and we also include your domestic outbuildings such as:

  • sheds,
  • garages,
  • greenhouses.

Our insurance includes cover against loss or damage from:

  • fire,
  • theft,
  • storm,
  • flooding,
  • subsidence,
  • escape of water.

You will be covered for:

  • rebuilding costs,
  • up to £2m legal costs for property owner’s liability,
  • alternative accommodation if your home is unfit to live in as the result of an insured event.

Some things won't be covered if your home is left empty for more than 60 days, please see your policy documents for full details.

Buildings optional extras

For small domestic problems, we offer home assistance cover and we'll pay up to £500, including VAT, and no excess applies.

If you want to increase your level of cover against accidental damage, we can do that too.

Contents insurance

We cover the contents of homes in Great Britain and Northern Ireland, including rented accommodation.

Our insurance also includes loss of or damage to your contents in your outbuildings:

  • sheds,
  • garages,
  • greenhouses.

Our insurance includes cover against loss or damage from:

  • fire,
  • theft,
  • storm,
  • flooding,
  • subsidence,
  • escape of water.

You will be covered for:

  • up to £2m plus legal costs personal and occupiers’ liability as standard,
  • contents up to the amount you are insured for, subject to policy limits,
  • new for old replacement of items (except household linen and clothing),
  • theft from your outbuildings,
  • up to 20% of the amount for which your contents are insured, for alternative accommodation.

Contents optional extras

For covering your valuable items, and the things you take out and about, we offer personal possessions cover.

For small domestic problems, we offer home assistance cover and we'll pay up to £500, including VAT, and no excess applies.

If you want to increase your level of cover against accidental damage, we can do that too.

Like all insurance policies, there are some limitations and exclusions. Please speak to our call centre or have a look at our policy documents online for more information.

*Your quotation must match your coverages with your existing insurer, including optional extras. If we don’t beat your existing renewal price, the difference and £1 will be refunded to you onto the card that you used to pay for your policy or deposit for your policy within 70 days of us receiving your valid documentation. You will be required to send us proof of your renewal documentation within 30 days of purchasing your policy to gtb@cover.coop.co.uk. The offer is not eligible to customers in Northern Ireland. Offer may be withdrawn at any time.
